Evansville is off to a 7-1 start. Good work! Over the last 2+ years, UE has been a two man show with maybe a third option. Mislav Brzoja is a fantastic third option, but what I really want to point out is the statistical new level Balentine and Mockevicius are putting up:

DJ - 22 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds

EMock - 18 points, 14 rebounds, 3 blocks

Crazy inside out combo if they can keep this up.

Should be an interesting conference season. Going in to this year I would have considered WSU a sure thing to win the conference. But based on how Evansville and UNI have played at times - I think the Shox may have some competition for top dog. Some of that is related to the Shox plethora of injuries but that's just part of the game.

This team is running the offense better than any other team we have had under Marty. It's not just DJ running around 500 screens a game. We finally have the role players we have been missing. We still lack the 4 spot though. The offense is opening a lot of doors for DJ and Mock. This team has the swagger they have been missing too. I don't mean that to be cocky. They have a mentality right now to play to win and leave it all on the court. Hopefully they stay hungry. This is a fun team to watch. Hopefully the community gets behind them and we can get some crowds back.

During the Alabama State game Wiley and SV played and as the 4/5 combo . They have a way to go defensively before they can beat out Wing or Simmons. They need to force Marty to play them. They haven't shown that intensity to date

Marty's nickname is the mule. There is a reasons for that. He doesn't seem to get that a player should get playing time to get better. Wiley does look lost when he comes in. He could be a decent player with a little playing time. The Russian is a project at best and nowhere near ready to give us anything. Really dissapointed Wiley hasn't turned out better. This was the position we were really lacking at.

I'd like to see Simmons use his bench more. Those guys need playing time to get better. Also, the Aces need a true 3 point threat. Aces are shooting 0.319 from 3 while opponents are shooting 0.345.
