Games Dec 14 through the 20th

Postby Wufan » December 17th, 2015, 6:13 am

LUC loses to Cleveland St. Doyle came off the bench. What gives?

ISUr had a dominating second half to beat UIC by double digits. Redbirds still can't shoot. Statistically they're pretty strong in every other category.

MSU over Oral Bob as noted in the other thread.

ISUb beats a D-II

12-17
Bradley and UE in action.

Haven't had a chance to see too much ISUr yet this year. Thought Lee/DAP combo would be a bit more overwhelming to opponents though. Still time for that to become the case.

If you haven't seen much of ISUr let me tell you the main problem with the Birds.
They are one of the worst shooting teams in the country!

I checked out the stats to prove this and was surprised to see some other Valley teams have some of the
same issues:

FG%:
ISUr: .401 -Tied for 313th in the nation with ISUb

2PT%
ISUr: .455 - Tied with WSU at 287th in the nation

3PT%
ISUr: .294 - Tied with MSU at 311th in the nation

FT%
ISUr: .594 - Which puts them at 342. FYI...there are 351 D1 teams so that is almost dead last!

So basically pathetic shooting from anywhere on the court!

Congrats to Balentine! He gets a lot of crap for being in an offense designed for him to score 20 a night, but that's a great accomplishment in any system.

Bradley beats D2 Maryville tonight.

Probably the last win of the season for the Braves. Carry on with the regularly schedule MVC season.

What are the Bradley fans thoughts on the young Braves?

Some fans think they are terrible and this is the worst team in Bradley history.
A good number of fans chose to leave a double-overtime game a couple weeks ago...some left at the end of regulation and some more left at the end of the first overtime. They were obviously tired of watching bad basketball.

Some fans see this for what it is...a complete reboot. This team has nine scholarship freshmen, a promising sophomore, and a senior who has averaged just 11 minutes/game over the last four games.
To me, this is simply a season-long public tryout to see who will be around next season and possibly longer.
Believe me, Peoria wants a winner in the worst possible way and if there's improvement on the court and minimal issues off the court, I would hope people see it for what it is and support this young team.
