One bid league?

With WSU losing again today I'm not sure we have an at large team.

If UNI, can knock off ISU tonight along with their win against UNC, they'll have a pretty good argument.

Not looking real good right now. UNI and WSU probably have the best shot but it's less than 50/50.

With a KenPom of 35, an RPI of 48, and a SOS of 5, WSU is as good as dead.

Sarcasm noted but we sure don't have much room for error. A couple weeks of bad MVC losses would be devastating.

In a word: yes.

I think some people don't realize how statistically awful the MVC is this year. There are more teams over 200 RPI (4) than under 100 (3). I put the odds of an at-large at less than 10%.

Last year the Mtn West was the 13th rated conference. (Where MVC is this year.) Boise St. was the last at large based on a 23-8 season with 4 wins over the top 50. UNI is the only potential team that could hit 4 wins and that's if they sweep Wichita and beat Iowa St.

Keep in mind Colorado St. was left out last year despite a 26-6 record & an RPI around 40 because they only had 5 top 100 wins. The only way one of the top 3 gets to 5 wins is if they sweep the other 2. I just don't see that happening.

After WSU finishes #9 in the MVC, their season will be over.

Big win by UNI tonight over #5 Iowa St. They have two really good wins now over #1 and #5

Just a couple of bad losses ...
Using RPIWizard, I gave WSU a loss at UNI, at Evansville, at Loyola and vs. Drake. That generated an RPI of 57, probably out of the at-large discussion.

But maybe Drake can still prove us wrong, not be a bad loss, and finally avoid Drake Night???

UNI loses to Hawaii and BYU. The margin of error which was razor thin is probably gone now.
