Personally it means that I will have to start pre-gaming at 11:00am instead of 5:00pm. Wish I was able to make it to Des Moines this year and join you for a drink at the West End but the Tuesday game makes it impossible. Hopefully next year!

Always enjoy seeing the WSU fans at West End. My old friend Shockball used to say it was named the West End because it looked like the west end of an east moving horse.

Miss that guy. R.I.P.

One of the most entertaining parts of WSU basketball is the pre-game "call in" show.

"Now I will hang up and listen".

Real basketball fans stop at George the Chili King for their world famous pork tenderloin sandwich and chili cheese fries before going to the West End.
There are three rules that I live by, never get less than 12 hours sleep, never gamble with a guy who has the same first name as a city and never get involved with a chick with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Stick to that and everything else is gravy!

There is not a toilet seat or toilet paper dispenser in the men's room at West End....going there after George the Chili King might not be the best idea, but damn, it sounds good.

P.S. Don't forget their extra greasy/extra good onion rings. Chucklehead.

Since Bobby Boucher graduated, I have no reason to visit DSM. That said, regardless of restroom availability, no trip to Des Moines is complete without that pork tenderloin. If you need to wear a pair of Depends at the West End, do it, just get the freaking sandwich and chili cheese fries at George the Chili King first!

The place is an international culinary landmark and has been featured on Diners, Drive Inns and Dives.

Not real cool. I guess it was done for TV but there was a little thought process going into the rationale of this one. Most of the fanbase isn't in grade school out for Christmas vacation. Most employers don't even recognize NYE as a holiday. I personally had to take the day off just to see the game. It'll be interesting to see the attendance for this one. I'm gonna guess it's 85% full, which will be weak for Koch Arena.

Thanks. I know I'd be a little pissed if Drake had a weekday home game that was at that time of day. Like you said, most fans have to work for a living.
