All Valley Teams

Maybe a bit early, with lots of conference play left.

But we've hit and passed the mid-point of the regular season.

Who would you nominate from your school for the respective awards? ! person from each school, for each category, please.

Here are mine:
All Valley - Fred Van Vleet (Shocks lost without him in Florida)
All Newcomer - Conner Frankam (expands the defense like nobody else when he's on)
*All Freshman - Markis McDuffie (just gets better every game out there, energetic, fun to watch)

*going against my own rule here, but if Landry Shamet had not gotten hurt, I think he could've easily replaced Markis above.

PS - it's good to be back.

It's fun (and easy) to pick the players that are deserving from your own team, but it's even better to do it excluding your own team.

Per your reply, a different thread is warranted.

In this one, bias is most certainly welcome.

Sound pretty reasonable to me.

I thought WSU players and coaches were ineligible for individual awards when the team wins the regular season title? Just ask Tekele Cotton.

Looks like a pretty good list to me.

If I were another Valley coach, I would vote Simmons for coach of the year. Why wouldn't you want to encourage UE to keep a coach that was 57-87 in MVC play prior to this year?

Last year they had Mock & DJ as first teamers and Mislav as 6th Man - yet only finished 9-9. That's a track record I would like in a opponent.

I like your list. I agree on the Bears you have listed.

Consideration from ISUr:
All Valley: No one... DAP just not consistently good enough to compare with top valley players
All Defense: No one....Lee hasn't been the same ball hawk he was previously
All Newcomer: Again sad to say...No one
All Frosh: Griffin....only bright spot in a dismal season. Has the chance to be special at ISU if he doesn't transfer to the B1G!!!!

Beane should be all Valley.

Anyone else think Mock could end up as POY?
