My best case scenario is for MSU to dominate the valley and then have CU beat them in the finals in STL.

that scenario will get CU to the NCAA, but MSU will be in the NIT.

Depends what dominate implies.

I claim we don't get in because I still think we drop 3-4 games in the Valley. But if we managed to "dominate" the Valley and go 16-2, 17-1, or 18-0, and get to the finals in STL, then I guess it is possible

Too many 'if's and 'but's to worrry about it. Considering the league is 'down' this year, I would not expect too much, we will probably be a 1 bid league, with 1 other team that is borderline. WSU was 25-10 last year and did not make it. If a second team makes it this year, it will probably come as a surprise.

26-7 with an RPI in the 30's is a much better resume than Wichita had last year. Plus there are three more spots. Plus, Wichita didn't win the Valley, and I think any scenario with MSU in involves them winning Valley.

the MVC regular season or tourney?

I could see the Bears getting in if they win the regular season and lose to WSU in the tourney championship. It would be kinda tough for a committee to keep them out considering both records should be pretty good by the end of the season.

MVC regular season...I'm really speaking about at-large berths. The only scenario I see the Bears getting in is if they win the Valley regular season and lose in the Finals, while also beating WSU on Senior Day. The BEars haven't lost on Senior Day since like 1985, but that doesn't much impact on this year obviously.

Of course, if they win the conference tourney, they'll be in that way as well.

I don't think the winner of the regular season is going to be safe for at-large bid. Conference is to far down and neither WSU or MSU do well enough in non-conference play.

Problem is quality of wins. MSU is 1-2 versus Top 50 (WSU only quality win) and only 1-0 versus Top 100. MSU only has 2 more chances to get Top 50 wins the rest of the season (WSU and Bracketbuster). CU, ISU-B and UNI are probably going to be flirting whether they finish in the Top 100 RPI.

WSU has the same problem: 0-3 versus Top 50 and 0-0 versus Top 100. WSU and MSU really need CU, ISU-B and UNI to play well against the bottom feeders of the conference to get and stay in the Top 100 RPI.

WSU could also be helped if Nicholls State and Tulsa would do well and push into the Top 100. I don't see any of MSU non-conference opponents they beat making it in the Top 100 RPI.

WSU and MSU both need to win their bracketbusters and not have any bad losses. And for WSU they must also beat MSU on the final day of the regular season.

That is a lot of things that must go right for the MVC to feel like they have a possibility of 2 bids.
