Would you rather have memorable losses or boring wins? I would take boring wins in a heartbeat...or any kind of win for that matter.

He is referencing memorable wins, not losses (12', 15' and destroying Creighton). Who has memorable losses???

At any rate, I would like those memorable wins in the finals, not in the semis. We beat WSU last year, but lost in the finals....to keep our streak of no NCAA tournaments going.

In fact, if I had to choose who to play, I'd cheer for all upsets before playing us....and so would you all.

More than likely a team will have to go through WSU to win Arch Madness. Does it really matter what round it is in?

Finals 100x out of 100.

We won semis in 12' - lost to Creighton in overtime in the finals (got us an NIT bid)
We won semis in 15' - lost to UNI in the finals with a big halftime lead (got us an NIT bid)

Nice to beat them, got us nowhere but the NIT in the end.

I suppose what i meant to say was memorable runs in STL, sure Semifinal wins over Wichita in '12 and '15 were great, but like you said, without a win in the finals, they are rather unfulfilling.

I would rather win the tournament without playing Wichita than knock off Wichita early and lose in the finals, and i imagine most other people would too.

Actually, a deep run in the NIT is better than losing in the first round of the NCAA tournament. At least, that was Marshall's opinion when he was asked about it a few weeks ago in his coaches show. He put the NIT Championship just behind a Sweet Sixteen in value to a program.

No one wants to get sent to the NIT, but it isn't chopped liver either, especially if you can make a deep run.

Wow, a comparison to NIT vs NCAA. I get what Marshall is saying, but that concludes that making the NIT would then equal a "deep run". Far from a guarantee.

I'll take my chances in the NCAA given we haven't been since 1998, especially considering there is no guarantee of making it to NY for the final 4 in the NIT to make it worthwhile.

Besides, from a marketing and exposure standpoint, even a first round exit in the NCAAs gets you visibility with recruits, boosters, and a growth in the fan base.

Again, I'll take NCAA over NIT 100x out of 100

I would rather UNI be the 6 than the 4 to avoid WSU as long as possible.

Last year is a prime example of why you go to the other side.

You avoid the best team as long as possible. Last year I didn't want to see UNI played WSU again. By virtue of them being the other side of the bracket there is one more chance for a team to get hot out of it's mind and knock them off. If you have to go through them put it off as long as possible to potentially not have to go through them. It's a real simple concept.

Memorable losses.......no one has more than the Bears! They aren't all they are cracked up to be.

Quite a shame with this group of players.

A change HAS to be made.

There is no way UE should fall from grace with fans this easy. It's always tough for the Aces this time of year based on star power floor time, but with the most exciting part of the season almost here, quality teams and players tend to find another gear. I fully expect UE and the birds to fight it out to the end for number two.

Sorry that a lot of the UE fans on here after a loss are like a bunch of sheep. "Marty's Baaaad", "they are playing Baaaaad", We're so Baaad".

Call me a sheep all you want, but statistically speaking, Marty's record in MVC play is baaaad.

65-92 in regular season, 2-8 in St. Louis - a whopping .401 win percentage.
