Who says it isn't? Everyone on here is smart enough to understand how bad losses hurt your team (or even wins). We just have ABSOLUTELY NO SYMPATHY. You all turn your noses up to us all the time. We all understand, but we do not care. Get it??
Also, why are we so focused on it NOW, after a loss?

It's like a parent who has a kid who sucks at a sport, but they have blinders on for the real problems and instead blames the coach for not playing them.

Ask questions of your team right now....not the conference for which you happen to play in.

I get the displeasure with the conference. UNI has been in WSU's boat, to a much smaller extent, at times in recent years. We have also tried our best to maintain as strong of an SOS as possible and have invested heavily in the program to show our commitment to Jacobson. Despite several key disadvantages, UNI has continued to be one of the most consistent programs in the conference (and likely in all of non-P5 bball) in the last 10-15 years.

However, its really disappointing to see such a knee-jerk reaction from fans who, instead of directing anger and frustration at their team, point it at teams like Illinois St and UNI for winning. I don't think there is a more ridiculous example of entitlement than when fans (and I'm not thinking of anyone specific here, I've just seen some similar sentiment) pull the old, "Way to go! You ruined it for the whole conference" card.

There's ample room for complaining about teams who don't even attempt to build a high quality schedule or don't invest in their program, but its really petty to keep airing it as an attempt to lick wounds. I've seen a couple complimentary posts for the Redbirds and Panthers for their wins, but they are far outweighed by all the negativity.

If there are some university administrators on this board then that's news to me. The fact that people take the time to come here and discuss MVC athletics tells me that (most) of them care about their teams.

The large majority of ShockerNet is not blaming the conference but questioning our own team. Where do you get that we are only blaming the conference? I don't even think we've costed ourselves an at-large bid yet. UNI is the team that got screwed by a low-major conference, not the Shockers. Maybe you will feel a little shame over that one since they don't turn your noses up at you all the time? Or let me guess, you don't care about them either, you just like to use whatever excuse you can to justify your pleasure in the ineptitude of your own school.

I care....but I don't care that it is hurting WSU right now. How do you not understand this? You all feel and act above everyone else. No sympathy

WSU has lost consecutive games to CBI level teams. And don't forget that Shockers lost to Tulsa and Seton Hall with Van Vleet.

You're not that good Wichita. The sooner you acknowledge it the happier you'll be.

Pretty awful, but easily the best in the league.. Put down the shovel.

but you are all displacing your anger on the conference, rather than listening to the advice of DUShock.

Look at your own team, who is SOOOO superior to this conference and why they played and were coached like crap today.

You won't get sympathy from us, but we understand the bad losses. Stop bitching.

I'm not really angry at this conference. I was over this conference about 2 years ago. It is what it and it's not going to be fixed by the member schools so the Shockers need to care of business on their own. Gonzaga has done it for 10-15 years and it's never really been a problem for them, it should be the same for us.

I simply have a problem with people acting like the conference doesn't hurt Wichita State. It does hurt Wichita State and the WCC hurts Gonzaga. The conference is a hurdle we have to overcome every single year and acting like it isn't just shows a complete lack of understanding as to how RPI and SOS and basketball in general works.

Oh we understand quite well. The real issue is frankly my darling we don't give a damn.

I care about all 10 teams in this conference. I cheer for all of them in non-conference.
I still think you will be in the NCAAs, I will still cheer for you in it. But, I don't care about your problems as it relates to your conference affiliation!!! I FEEL LIKE A REPEATER.
