To be honest, I didn't graduate from Illinois State either, but grew up here going to Redbirds games since a youth.

I went 45 minutes east at University of Illinois in their business school.

Doesn't matter. Both schools are better than Wichita State.

You don't get it. You keep arguing POY using your teams stats and record. I'm not comparing Mock to Simmons. I'm stating that player of year can be anyone who dominated the conference as a PLAYER.

Simmons is my example. His team sucks but he will probably be SEC poy.

Your argument of WSU dominated so POY must come from there makes no sense given WSU is a team, not a specific player.

Again FVV is poy, but your logic for why is completely off base. Hence my question, where did you go to school?

You can ask dumb and dumber (ShoxMVC and Champ) the same questions.

As you said FVV will be POY, more than likely. He was the best player in the MVC in 2015-16 when you look at his stats and use BBIQ judgement when you see him play, in addition to how he made his team better to contribute to the team results. Question...why are you so interested in where certain people went to school? Aren't you proud of your education at Clown State University? No, wait a minute...if that info got out to Missouri State fans, they would print shirts making fun of you. That might put you over the edge.

Okay stop name calling, etc. for a second to show my stance considering it's getting lost in translation with our bickering.

My point was that although your team stats worked out this time with FVV winning in both of our opinion, those "logical" stats for Wichita as a TEAM have no bearing on the actual results of the Player of the Year award. Ben Simmons was my example for a player from a team who won't win the conference as going to win the POY. At this point, Buddy Hield will be in the same boat with Oklahoma, given KU will probably win that conference as well.

So your logical stance that you kept pushing, had no bearing other than to boast about your team's success. You just got lucky that this year, FVV is the winner.

Any players individual stats contributes toward team stats. The POY award isn't won just on stats, eye test, or team accomlishments, but voters consider all of them. If you don't believe that you lack insight.

This isn't a basketball forum. Let's talk about trees and how Normal, Illinois has more of them.

When you get your ass handed to you, you have to go somewhere. Why not go trees?

Please share with Frankamp and Jans.

On topic, Mock is clearly the best player in the conference.

Totally agree that they must take ALL things into consideration, but to write-off completely other candidates given you finished 4 games in front and dominated the league is incorrect as well.

If MVCFan listened to your advice, he would have said the things he said with the caveat about stats, and other areas that are taken into consideration on an INDIVIDUAL level.

However, he did not. Just telling me and others we are idiots for not concurring that "logic" shows that WSU won the league easily and thus that automatically awards the POY to that team.

Gregg doesn't waste his time on players like Simmons because they don't know how to share the ball and play team basketball. His reputation precedes him and he doesn't make others around him better. He wants the ball all the time.

Besides to compare Simmons with Mock is laughable. Apples and oranges.

I don't think a Simmons and Mock comparison is good, but you have never watched Simmons play obviously. The knock on him is he doesn't want the ball enough, and is too unselfish.

To think that Gregg wouldn't waste his time on a player like Simmons is even more laughable than the Simmons/Mock comparison. Every single coach in the country would take Ben Simmons on their team. Even a lot of NBA teams would love to have him this year.
