How does Panther Nation feel about that one?

I think there would be riots in the streets if we hired someone from KU's Athletic Department.

Thrilled with the hire. He's been the right hand man of a really successful AD in Ames. He's worked across the SEC as well. He's incredibly well thought of in the Big 12 and came with a personal recommendation from Bob Bowlsby, who also got his start at UNI.

This is obviously a stepping stone for him, but if he gets the Dome renovation and Basketball Practice Facility done and moves on in 5-8 years, all Panther Fans would certainly take it.

And I know it doesn't matter, but guy DOMINATED the press conference. Jake is said to be thrilled with the hire as well. If you've got a few minutes, the press conference is archived on ESPN3. Good Stuff!

Harris mentioned that he had a chance to talk with Jacobson while on his visit. I think BCPanther mentioned it but Jake is reportedly very happy with the hire.

Jake got a large amount of input towards the choice.

Being that Harris was at ISU for the last decade and worked with their basketball program he and Jake have known each other for a while.

I think it bodes well for the hire and for the future of UNI basketball.
