in today's women's 10k, two Wichita State grads ran, Kellyn Taylor (formerly Johnson) and Aliphine Tuliamuk

Taylor finished 4th, missing being an olympian by one spot, Tuliamuk was 8th, gutsy races from both WSU grads

Ugh, sooooo close :|

That stinks for those ladies, but great job of positioning themselves for those opportunities.
[Insert snappy comeback]

TWO SIU athletes make it to Rio!

Gwen Berry and Deanna Price get 2nd and 3rd and make our olympic team!

Deanna sets the all time collegiate record in the Hammer throw, going 239-09!

Congrats SIU alums!

SIU alum Geneva Stevens was 6th place as well!

We have TWO (sort of) more women's MVC Olympians!

In the women's shot put Indiana State alum Felisha Johnson took 3rd place, going 63-01.25", while Raven Saunders, who threw at SIU for 1 year, then transferred to Ole Miss, took 2nd!

Our other 2 MVC throwers were 6th and 8th place. Former Illinois State thrower Brittany Smith was 6th, while SIU alum Jeneva Stevens (McCall) was 8th

Other MVC results today for the women. Former Illinois State javelin thrower Leigh Petranoff advanced to the finals, placing 10th.

in the women's 5000, former WSU runner Kellyn Taylor (Johnson) advanced to the next round.

Thanks for keeping us updated on all of this. I'm always interested but not always willing to put forth the effort to find the info.
