These standings do not reflect where teams will finish at end of the year. They are the standings as of today. Nobody is saying ISU-B will finish 17-1. But right now in the Valley, there isn't one person on here that thought they would be 6-1 at this point. There should be no question they have been the most surprising team thus far.

Lots of haters on the board that have a hard time giving credit to other teams.

I'll give credit when credit is due. Apparently some people like to brush other losses under the floormat and forget to look at the *whole* picture. Kinda like how Evansville certainly isn't defined by their win at Butler.

I personally don't care what happened in November or early December. In the last 7 games in conference, ISU-B is 6-1. The reflection of their season is what has happened or happening now not what happened in November. Could be lots of reasons for early losses that I could care less about but will point out anyway: a new coach to get used to and player injuries to name two.

Which brings me back to my original point. Beat somebody significant on the road and then get back to me.

You may call it "hatin". I call it reality. It seems like you like to defend the "little guy" or "underdog" a lot, which is fine and certainly explains why you confront when you do.

Indiana State is no team to sneeze, snicker, or even laugh at. They will come and hunt you down. We have already taken down UNI, and Creighton, who is next?.......MSU!!!!

MVCFans, I ask that you please take jlandrus11's comments for what they are and that is of an overly enthusiastic young high school student at West Vigo H.S..

jlandrus, please refrain from becoming another 'baller. It isn't becoming.

Let's play these games on the court by the players and let the chips fall where they may. Having to eat crow is not a pleasant experience.

I saw WSU play once on TV earlier this year and thought they looked very good and commented on this forum my thoughts. 'baller, WSU may very well be the team standing tall at the end of the regular season and in the "Lou". But as many on here have stated, it is a long season with many games to be played and hopefully NO team suffers any major injury to one or two key players………as happened to ISU-B last year.

As for ISU-B, if our 4-5 shooters from 3 pt. land are hot, ISU-B can be a load. If not, ISU-B could be in trouble because we don't match up physically with the bigger teams.

And 'baller, as for you using Regression Analysis to predict future performance based on ISU-B's early losses, that tool of forecasting is questionable. "Trending" is much more accurate.

I would be careful with minimizing the Sycamores' record. Yes, they did get the softer part of the conference, but Valley wins are Valley wins. I would rather be 6-1 in their situation than 3-3. This confidence just may be the difference when the play the better teams.

In the late 90's I think just before the Marcus Wilson era UE got off to an 8-1 start in the conference with a similar type of conference schedule that just didn't seem right with nothing but wins against the bad league teams and a couple mild surprise home wins against poser teams (CU and UNI this year). They ended up 9-9 on the season.

Carter better shoot 75% 3's the rest of the way to meet the Tree faithful expectations.
