Tuesday's games

Postby PocketAces » January 17th, 2011, 5:24 pm

Here are the trends with opening numbers. Home team in CAPS. 9-4 so far with ATS winners here on the board.

DRAKE (-4) vs. Illinois State (down to 3 in many spots)

Drake is 4-4 ATS at home and 3-2 ATS as a favorite while the Redbirds are 2-2 ATS in true road games and 3-3 ATS as a dog. No real play here. PREDICTION: Drake 66-62

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS (-4) vs. Evansville (up to 4.5 in many spots)

The Salukis are only 3-6 ATS at home and only 1-5 ATS as a favorite, but Evansville doesn't give us a chance for a play being that they are only 3-4 ATS on the road and only 3-6 ATS as an underdog.
PREDICTION: Southern Illinois 64-60.

...Hopefully Wednesday's action will give us some better plays.

SIU and Drake both lead by double digits early in the 2nd half.

Bulldogs almost blow a 21 point lead, but hang on. Drake was playing without two injured starters (Van Deest and Wiseler). Two other Bulldogs also in street clothes with injuries. Only 9 scholarship players available for DU, and one of them (Jordan Clarke) is real banged up. Not a lot of healthy guys on DU's roster right now. I'm not sure what all that says about Illinois State.

Ryan Wedel led Drake with 22, and Rayvonte Rice added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.

Much needed win for DU, but the schedule gets a lot tougher now.
