First Half of the MVC season awards

Player of the Year - Kyle Weems

Freshman of the Year - Doug McDermott

Coach of the Year - Greg Lansing

Trying to determine an all-MVC team might require a little more thought than I can manage right now.

I don't know the specific stats (when compared to Weems), but since MVC play has begun, Kwadzo Ahelegbe has had an MVP type year so far.

He would be an obvious all valley choice.

Weems
McDermott :Bam:
Jacobsen- 2 buzzer beaters and this would be a lot different feel right now.

Weems is the runnaway POY
Rice/McD gonna be a close one
Lansing/Martin tough to discount Martin on the loss tonight. Lansing turning it around in the valley only time will tell.

Weems/Kwazdo?
Little Mc/Rice?
Martin/Lansing?
At the halfway point is not seasons end so......
Weems is the better player and Allegbe more valuable to his team. I go Weems.
Haven't seen much of Rice but Little Mac is probably CUs MVP and does a lot of things well.
Martin has won huge games on the road w/short bench and Lansing has exceeded everyones expectations in only his first year....tough call right now.

Other than Weems, Kwazdo, and Colt I don't see obvious all valley players yet. Fay has been good most games, WSU could have about 8 possibilities, GE and McD from CU in the running, Aaron Carter doesn't start and Carl Richards is inconsistent.
I'd make Carter 6th man.

Just to be clear - my selections above are based only on the first 8 conference games and not as predictors for the rest of the season.
