Mosely is super good. It will be fun to watch him the next 2 years, except for when he torches the Sycamores.

Mosley wins his 2nd straight MVC Player of Week award; averaged 29 ppg, 7 rbs, 4 assists, shooting .647 fg and 100% fts. Is human however, and only made 2/7 3pt shots.

Pity Gaige Prim, averaged 16.5 ppg, 13 rbs, 3.5 assists and shot 60% fg.

I don't know how many of you have seen Mosley play, but I think he is not just good but special. I've watched him play since his junior year in HS, and his game has remained remarkably consistent and understated . He rebounds well for his size and is just a very very efficient scorer. He can go long periods where he doesn't try to overly insert himself , but when he decides to, boom he can run up points in every way possible in a brief flurry. He's had four 20+ point half's this year, most telling, all in the 2nd half.

Obviously he has to maintain a high level for a longer period of time to enter into certain types of discussions, but at this moment as a sophomore, he's better than a lot of players were at the same point who have had highly decorated and significant careers in the Valley. Of course in today's world , the issue becomes keeping him. We already lost his HS teammate [Dujuan Harris] to KU before he ever played a game at MSU, so we all know the landscape. But having his other HS teammate at MSU and playing well [Ja' Monta Black] hopefully will be some buffer against all that, but for now, I'll just enjoy and hope.

It's unfortunate, but we always have to ask, what's the feeling Mosley hangs around? Ford gets talent, no doubt about it, but with COVID rules and the likelihood of transfers getting immediate eligibility, you have to think the big dogs come calling. Hopefully Ford can retain these guys!

If the Bears have success this year and can finish in the top 3-4 teams, the chances he stays becomes a lot better. Glad to see some of the talent Ford has recruited is starting to show up.

The Bears have a few factors in their favor in that regard:

1. Mosley is a Missouri kid, growing up in Columbia just a couple of hours up the road.

2. His HS teammate/friend Jamonta Black is also a Bear, playing a prominent role. Both figure to go down as 4 year impact players, and both seem happy to be in the program.

3. Right now, he is "the guy" and figures to be so into the future. Coach Ford trusts him to make plays. If he sticks it out he can go down as one of the greatest Bears of all time and have his number in the rafters. How much of a factor that is remains to be seen.

As of now I'd be more worried about Mosley going to the league. What's the read on that from MSU fans?

The way I look at him if he keeps this up he's a far better prospect than Green (who I admittedly have never been that high on). From what i've seen Mosley an efficient shooter, TAKES good shots, rebounds, and is growing as a distributor... I'm curious to see him go up against some better wing defenders like Williamson/Uguak + whoever Bradley decides to throw at him.

He's a prototypical NBA guard size wise, so I'm sure he'll start to generate attention by this off season if he remains as productive. His efficiency is off the charts right now [ I think #2 in the country via Kenpom] but he's been that way [ efficient] from early on in HS. Has always been a 50%+ fg, 40%+ 3pt. and 80% +ft , but unlike many HS kids those numbers haven't varied as the competition has gotten tougher . But again he has to maintain it for a longer stretch for consideration . Like you Blers, I've looked at his game vs Greens this time last year [ both sophs] and he is better in almost every statistical number offensively and is just a more versatile player as he rebounds better, defends better, and passes more readily. But Green has 2 years on record at a high level, so lets see.

Last years team had too many guys who wanted to be the guy, but really weren't up to it; I saw indications that some were a bit putoff by how confident offensively Mosley was , although that's silly given how little he forces shots and doesn't demand the ball all the time. He needed to grow up a bit effort wise, practice wise, defense wise, and that plus the team dynamics held him back a bit as a frosh although his stats still were the same 50/40/80 as a frosh. But he's flourishing with Ford having total confidence in him and in a system where he shares the focus with Prim and then has capable shooters around him. He's a little loose with the ball at times, but it's pretty hard to find much in his game not to like.

According to Hoop Power Analytics using the NCAA formula for offensive efficiency, Mosley and Prim are currently the #7 and #8 most efficient offensive players in the country. MSU is the only team with 2 in the top 15.
