Imagine if we could lure them back in if the AAC cant add anyone good then maybe they could help get Dayton. If we get one of those then that weakens the A-10 and its possible then that SLU comes. The ball keeps rolling and those 3 big adds could maybe lure Creighton back. Maybe Butler or Marquette after that. Now, all that won't happen but I'd be happy just getting Wichita and Dayton. it would eliminate travel expenses because everyone i mentioned is west of dayton and east of Wichita
There is a 0% chance of getting a Big East school. They're in a basketball only league full of peer universities with an East Coast sized TV contract.
That's the same reason that Dayton, Richmond, VCU or SLU aren't ever going anywhere other than where they are. They'll wait forever in the A10 for the slim chance it gets them a Big East invite.
I can see them waiting out their non-realistic chance at the Big East, but I can also see SLU re-think the A10 IF (and only IF) that league continues to lose its more notable members. They're still OK with it now because of Richmond, Dayton and UMass, and the fact that Bona and Duquesne are both actually good right now. . .but if Dayton, Richmond, and UMass are gone, SLU is then in a league with La Salle, St. Joe's, St. Bonaventure, Davidson, Duquesne, George Washington, Fordham, VCU, George Mason, and Rhode Island. . .while they like the East Coast exposure in a league with some noteworthy institutions, when St. Joseph's, VCU, and URI are the best of what's left. . .that's not what they signed up for.
