Being involved more in the Indianapolis market would do more for us than KC and Dallas combined. I don't see why ISU should be subsidizing private schools and their lousy enrollments. I'd like to congratulate the private schools for dragging the MVC down even more. Four of the 5 schools (I'm including Belmont) have no fan support, and three of them completely suck in basketball. No wonder Wichita, Creighton, and Loyola couldn't wait to leave. Loyola probably wasn't impressed by Arlington or UMKC either, which is why they contacted the A10. Why Missouri State didn't beg the CUSA for an invite is beyond me. They'll live to regret that one I'm sure.
The Valley could've saved itself in the basketball world by just going to 11 with Murray State, but instead the idiot presidents and the idiots in St Louis can't help but drink the kool aid when it comes to markets. It's an athletics league not an academic league. If your enrollment sucks then maybe your school sucks or costs too much. There's a thought.
My team,UE is one of those lousy teams your talking about ,but Indiana St. isn't. UE ranked top 3 in attendance
probably the last 5 years or more, your Indiana St. was toward the bottom. As far as saying that Loyoya couldn't wait to bolt they were bottom 8 in the conference in attendance. On a side note, could you imagine how many fans would be in the seats at UE and Indiana St. If we had some of the teams that Loyola had the last 3 years. There attendance is horrible.
Loyola's attendance has not been "horrible" the past few years. They have a small arena so the raw numbers are lower. But they have had 4 or 5 sellouts each year since the Final Four and typically fill about 70-80% of the arena. Plus, they have BY FAR the greatest student support. Students line up for hours before each game. Hell, they just played a Tuesday night game against an NAIA team and the student center was jam packed.
