Are you scared that he would win too much, or try to drink all your Diet Coke?

He hasn't won anywhere and the success he had at Marquette was tied directly to Dwyane Wade. He's got a .568 winning percentage after being at three stops where he could literally buy 10 wins per year. I'm saying you can do much better.
Also, Diet Coke is trash so him loving it checks all the boxes. #TeamPepsiZero

I am hoping the same thing.

If you want him at Valpo, I’m rooting for both of you.

I respectfully submit that Steele's firing has more to do with Xavier's outsized opinion of themselves as a program than anything Steele did wrong as a coach. Besides it's not like Evansville is Xavier level as a program. Nor is the MVC as strong a conference as the Big East. Just because a coach cannot succeed at the Big East level does not mean he can't succeed in the MVC nor is success in the MVC a predictor of success at a higher level. Yes I would make the switch from Lottich to Steele in a heartbeat if it were on the table and I think most college basketball fans and observers would view that as an upgrade. He's apparently not even available at the moment so this discussion is irrelevant but sitting here telling me he wouldn't have been a step in the right direction for Evansville seems off base to me. I don't know who the answer is or if Evansville can pull itself out of the spiral it is in. I certainly hope it can because the MVC will be better for it. Maybe Tom Crean can do well at the mid major level. He would certainly sell tickets and generate excitement in the short term. His tenure in Georgia was an absolute dud but I think it's very hard to succeed in basketball at any SEC school that isn't Kentucky or Florida since it is such a football centric league. When he was at a basketball first school in a conference that values basketball he went to 3 Sweet 16 in 5 years. Hiring a P5 retread isn't always a sexy move but it could be a good one especially if Evansville is committed to basketball success under their new AD.

Now is much better than March 2023
It’s early
It's not early. UE has no coaches and six players on the roster as of 5/9/2022.
When do you think the college basketball season starts?
