Here is the update with what we know so far for ILST. Not the best schedule but fine for year one of a new regime. I'll expect a better one next year.

10/29: Wooster (EX)
11/7: Western Illinois
11/10: at EIU
11/12: at Northwestern State
11/17: Northwestern State
11/21: vs LSU (Cayman Islands)
11/22: vs TBD (Cayman Islands)
11/23: vs TBD (Cayman Islands)
11/29-12/4 (two MVC games, one home, one away)
12/7: vs EMU
12/10 - SIUE
12/17: vs Ball State (at Indianapolis)
12/19- Chicago State

Looks like there is room for a game the week of Xmas or New Years. The break from 12/10-12/17 is for finals so, I'd be surprised if he adds a game in there.

Besides Stonehill and Merrimack, everyone on Bradley's schedule has been D1 for a while (aside from the non-D1 we'll probably have).

Pedon is keeping travel costs down, adding a game on Nov 10 at Eastern Illinois.

The Birds will play 7 of Illinois 13 D1 teams this season. I’m just going to assume one of the final games scheduled is at Northern Illinois, cuz why not complete the directional quad-fecta.

This is a really solid get for Bradley. If the other games are of similar caliber then they can build a really solid schedule. Illinois State's schedule on the other hand is not very exciting but that's okay for year one as Pedon tries to rebuild the program in his image. He looks to be a strong hire so hopefully he will have the Redbirds at an at large caliber level very soon! A program that has struggled recently stepping up into the upper echelon would be very good for the league!

You literally just said in the other thread that you didn’t want a MAC-MVC series, but this is great in your opinion? LOL

Read my post in that thread to understand why I said it was unnecessary to do a formal challenge. But to save you the trouble I'll restate it here: Akron is a solid get on the schedule because they are repeatedly at or near the top of the MAC standings so it's a good series that should contribute positively to Bradley's SOS and maybe even their overall resume if the Braves are ever good enough. But overall RE: a formal MVC-MAC challenge: MAC games are good gets for MVC teams but we are able to get them anyway without a formal challenge. We also should wait until realignment settles down to see what the new pecking order looks like before committing to a formal challenge. It may open previously unavailable opportunities for the MVC or make formerly attractive partners far less attractive when it's all said and done. Does that make sense? I can't put it any more clearly than that.

Right.

Having a formal challenge isn't good for the MVC.

That said - there are some good MAC teams worth playing. Akron, Toledo, Buffalo, and Kent State have been traditionally pretty strong.

No one needs to be playing the bottom feeders formally, however.

Fantastic schedule for UNI.

Seven games versus Top 100 teams from last season.

Here is what is believed to be the final schedule. I don't like it, but I give it a pass for year one of the new regime.
10/29: Wooster (EX)
11/7: Western Illinois
11/10: at EIU
11/12: at Northwestern State
11/17: Northwestern State
11/21: vs LSU (Cayman Islands)
11/22: vs TBD (Cayman Islands)
11/23: vs TBD (Cayman Islands)
11/29-12/4 (two MVC games, one home, one away)
12/7: vs EMU
12/10 - SIUE
12/17: vs Ball State (at Indianapolis)
12/19- Chicago State

They'll hit the ground running once the season starts with 3 games in 6 days.
