Even if the afternoon session miraculously ended on time at 5:30 (it never does), that would only leave 55 minutes between sessions. Venues typically need 90 minutes to clear and reset. There’s a nonzero chance the afternoon session is still playing when the night session (Drake’s game) is supposed to tip. That will cause havoc for people attending Albany.
All this to say, no way Drake actually tips at 6:25.
There's a site that gets screwed like that every year. Happened the first time Des Moines had the tournament. They don't hold the games because TV rules. We didn't get into the building between sessions until after the third game had already started and missed like the first 8 minutes.
Totally unfair to the fans and teams.
Yeah, especially with the narrow, congested concourses at Des Moines. I remember the bottlenecks from when Bradley played there in 2019.
Worst building ever built but I won't bore you with the Iowa politics that caused it to be what it is.
Luckily, the Des Moines area absolutely embraces NCAA events and knocks them out of the park. Absolute travesty that wrestling hasn't been back for the national tournament.
