The last time neither UE nor ISU-B had a Thursday date in the play-in round was 2001. (UE was 6th seed, ISU-B 5th)

About damn time.

I have to admit, I'm really torn about this game. Our team has to have plenty of confidence since we won both matchups in the reg season. However, I'm not blind, I saw our team get completely outplayed in the first half of both games. So, I know if we don't play our best, ISU is completely capable of handing it to us. I think the keys for us, like most every game, is rebounding and taking care of the ball. The other troubling thing I've noticed lately is that we seem to have reverted back to 4 players waiting for Colt to score. When we were playing our best, it wasn't a coincidence that Colt wasn't putting up huge points every game, we had others stepping up every game. We definitely are going to need that in this game and beyond if we win. It should be a fun game and nice to see at least one Indiana team moving on. Good luck Sycs....but I'm hoping for 3-0

The following was edited based on Havoc's correction:

A team with 17 point lead is smart to shorten the game by taking the shot clock down before making a shot attempt. This uses time, forces the opponent to play defense, and typically results in your opponent "hurrying their offense" and making mistakes. Indiana State did not back off either time, they did not have the composure to hold a lead, on the road or at home. They could not stop the Aces from scoring and failed to score. Conversely, the Aces shot the ball well.

The Aces lose this game if they spot the Sycs 15 or more points.

The pressure is on Indiana State because:

1. Higher seed
2. Fan base has expectations
3. Twice loss 17 point lead

No pressure on Aces:

1. Lower seed.
2. Fan base glad to have Friday game.
3. Aces KNOW they can beat Sycamores.

The Sycamores will have more fans at the game, but other fanbases will be clapping for the Aces.
Everybody likes the underdog.

Havoc, you are correct. I had 23 stuck in my head from another team. Thanks.

If INSU plays hard, Smart basketball for 40 minutes it will still be tight because UE does the same thing...it's unfortunate these two teams play each other because these are the types of teams who can take down a top seed or two...consistent effort, rebounding and defense...minus the types of offenses pretty close to the same types of teams...Trees have the advantage in the post especially if they can get Carl going...ISU has to find a way to cover Colt Ryan, sideline to sideline...Jake Odum should draw that match-up imo...Secondly please dont let an unknown player hurt us like they did the past two times...like Jahr and harris, (even tho now those guys arent unknowns..)
