Would love an agreement with the WCC. Lots of schools with good name recognition and we would get a Crack at thr Zags and SMC. Never thought I would want the MVC-MWC Challenge back but here we are.

A-10 and American would be great but they do see themselves as greater than. Big East would be better but those are all pipe dreams. Reality imo is that if there's a separation between the P4 due to football the aforementioned conferences would do well to block with similar leagues like the Valley to try and point out what they bring to the table.

I wouldn't mind an agreement with the Fun Belt. Some schools in there with great basketball pedigree.

Given our geographical shift to the east over the years, some sort of agreement with the MAC wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Not great games, but decent schedule fillers for those MVC teams who are really struggling to fill out their schedule. And travel wouldn't be terrible.

It's not a great basketball conference, but those are all "name schools" casual fans have heard of, and makes the schedule sound more normal than some of the more far-flung obscure D-1 teams we sometimes end up with.

Last season the MVC played 11 games against the MAC. We don't need an agreement with them. We also don't need to have a scheduling agreement with the Horizon, Summit, or OVC for the same reason.

We could use simple official guidelines. Didn't we used to do something like this? No scheduling teams with a net of 300 or worse in the two years prior to you scheduling them. Only 2 games with a net of 250 or higher in the past two years from when you've scheduled them.

Yes, there was scheduling criteria in the early 2000s, complete with financial penalties for failing to meet the criteria. BUT...the coaches and AD cried about it, despite the success it yielded in the form of multiple bids and decent seeding, culminating in 4 bids in 2006, and it was removed sometime around 04-05, IIRC.

To be fair, it's a completely different landscape now and I'm not sure it could/would have the same impact at this point.

I'm all for trying again. The MVC is not a power conference so we can't pull the same things that the Big 12 does. Schedule bad teams and rely on your in conference games to make up for it.

When does the conference release their slate of games for the 2024-25 season?

It was September 22nd last year, so we're getting close.

Agreements with MWC A10 WCC or AAC or nobody. There is no other conference that is worth it metrics wise or that we need to make agreements with in order to play. We can get HL SL MAC and OVC games easily as has already been said.
