We are in a great state with two major metropolitan areas and one of the nicest, fast-growing communities in the country is our own hometown. We can market all of these things. We have made tremendous strides as a school recently and will continue to do so under our leaders. And I would think nearly anyone who watches sports at even a casual level would realize that MSU is the school that was formerly Southwest Missouri State. The uniforms and colors are the same. College fans know.
I've lived my whole life in the home of the CWS and believe me, people don't walk around Omaha talking about the SMS CWS team of 2003.
If your community's famous alumni consist of the "first gentleman on the first Bachelor" and John Goodman, I think it is fair to say that nobody outside of Springfield is spending their rime talking about it! You couldn't even use the Bachelor guy's real name in your post because either you don't know it or you were afraid nobody would recognize it. Embarrassing.
