I was thinking specifically Iowa State and as a second K-State. Both of these schools are only BCS because they are in the Big XII. Look no further than their budgets and revenue.
If the Big XII implodes, where does Iowa State go? The MAC? Iowa State is not a money school, they really bring little to the table and most of their current revenue is derived from the Big XII contract. Iowa State, I'm sorry to say, leaches off of the Big XII, they are a taker, not a giver. Without the Big XII revenue, they look exactly like a lot of other Valley schools. They have been forced to axe programs and are currently fielding the minimum to be considered D-1. And with what conference revenues are in the MAC, travel costs would kill Iowa State. Geographically, Iowa State fits in nicely with the MVC, not so much with the MAC. K-State looks similar, but they might be a better fit in the now, much more watered down WAC. Both of these programs are losers.
Anyone that thinks any more of Iowa State or Kansas State is kidding themself. No BCS conference wants either one of these dogs and if the Big XII does die, these programs are in real trouble. I'm not saying the MVFC should jump, I just wonder if they are looking into it. They should be at least looking.
There are three rules that I live by, never get less than 12 hours sleep, never gamble with a guy who has the same first name as a city and never get involved with a chick with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Stick to that and everything else is gravy!
