Non-TV games:

UNC-Wilmington (144) at Illinois State (120)

They already played this season. So they can't be matched up in the BB. Valpo or Oakland make a lot of sense with Geography and RPI. Maybe Youngstown because of their MVC football.

Thanks - thought I had caught any rematches. In this case, Drexel (90) or Old Dominion (128) would work.

It should be noted that Iona had a bad loss last night at 9-10 Siena. Iona's RPI dropped to 54 with the loss.

If Wichita State gets shipped their simply because their RPIs line up, that would be a shame and reason enough to get the heck out of Bracket Buster in my opinion.

I'd love to see UNI get Oral Roberts as you guessed. I'm not sure what our chances are for any kind of at large berth at this point, but this would be a good game.

I don't understand how you can list LBSU's RPI at 40, use LBSU's record against top 50 schools as justification for them not being an at-large(I totally agree), but then say a win over LBSU would help no one. By what you said earlier, an improvement to a team's record against top 50 teams would be a boost to their resumes.

Who does set these matchups? The NCAA, networks, conferences, ??, or a combination? Just curious....

I think LBSU is a lot like UNI. Good RPI based on a tough OOC schedule, but not predicted to be an at large.

ESPN does the TV games. Conference commissioners do the rest I think.

I think CU getting anybody outside of St. Marys would be a kick in the junk and would irritate the crap out of me.

Wichita getting Murray St is what I want with ORU a second after Iona losing yesterday and Davidsons RPI is going to continue to tank due to their hideous league.

If these 3 matchups happen I will be quite pleased with the BB this year for the Valley.

CU/Saint Marys
WSU/Murray St
UNI/ORU

I think these matchups will have the greatest potential RPI wise for the valley and perception wise. Granted you don't want to go 0-3.

It's more than just current RPI for LBSU. They play in the Big West which is atrocious. Even if they went undefeated in the Big West, their RPI will continually fall. If they even lose one game in the Big West, their RPI will tank which is why in the end, it will not help any at large team compared to others in the field. Especially since their marquee win (Pitt) is horrible.
