He did rush the court. He was painted in blue, totally naked. McBulldog got pictures. I think he's blowing them up life size and putting them on the ceiling of his bedroom.

If the Aces would have beat the Shockers, I would have rushed my living room and gave high fives to the furniture............................

The Aces saw three point makers.

ISASO right. WSU has plenty of shooters, but not enough makers. They are a very inconsistent 3pt shooting team. Some games they are on, sometime not - it is about 50-50% proposition. When WSU has lost this year you see their 3pt shooting just not be sub-standard, but dismall (like 1-14 vs CU in the 2nd half) or Kyles 0-8 performance tonight. It will hold them back in either the NCAA or NIT.

I'm allowing the student court rushing because it was a triple OT game. If we had won in regulation, it would not have been justified. But come on man, it was triple OT!

DES MOINES — The road finally caught up to Wichita State. Fouls. Hot shooting by the home team. Missed free throws. Fatigue. Bad bounces. It happens.

Drake knocked the Shockers out of a first-place tie in the Missouri Valley Conference with an 93-86 win in triple overtime. WSU (18-4, 9-2 MVC) lost its first road game in seven trips. Drake (13-9, 6-5) snapped a two-game losing streak and their students stormed the court. One fan took a picture of the scoreboard.

It took 15 additional gritty, grueling minutes Saturday, but Drake finally did something no else has been able to this year — beat Wichita State in its home gym.

Ben Simons scored a career-high 29 points, Rayvonte Rice completed his second consecutive double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds, and Drake outworked Wichita State in a third overtime period to dispatch the Shockers 93-86 before an announced crowd of 4,895 at the Knapp Center.

To accomplish the upset, Drake had to overcome a 9-0 Wichita State lead, an off shooting night from Rice (5-of-23) and 27 points from Shocker center Garrett Stutz...........................

Amazing game! I'm exhausted....I can just imagine how exhausted the players are!

Crowd wasn't very large, but was really into the game, starting about midway through the first half.

Huge contributions from all 8 guys who played:

Simons with a career high 29, plus 8 rebounds (career high)

Rice couldn't hit a damn thing....and still finishes with 19 points, 14 rebounds (career high), 8 assists (career high), 4 steals, and 2 blocks.

Alexander with 17 points, 5 rebounds, and only 1 turnover.....and he was huge in the overtimes.

Jeffers with 11 points and 4 rebounds....he's just going to get better and better.

Woods with 7 points, 8 rebounds, 4 blocks and 4 steals, and a great defensive job on Stutz after Stutz went crazy early.

Madison, 4 points and 3 assists

Clarke 4 points, all after K Woods fouled out

Hawley had 2, and probably played his best defense of the year.

Damn...can't remember when I had so much fun at a game!

I plan on attending the Evansville at Drake game. Do me a favor and make sure Rice eats Mexican food about two hours before the game. Also, Simons needs to lift weights all day long before we play...........................

Wow! Bulldogs showed tremendous heart & effort. Shox are a great team with tremendous talent, makes this victory so much more meaningful to us longsuffering bulldog fanatics! Bulldogs defense and rebounding were much improved tonight. I also thought Ragland foul trouble hurt the Shox quite a bit on both ends of the court.

Huge win by a deserving bulldog team. Looking great to avoid Thursday in St Louis!

Congrats to the Bulldogs on a very competitive and well deserved victory! Drake was my sleeper pick this year, but I didn't think you'd be able to come thru without Van Deest. The Bulldogs have an excellent team!

I thought the actual storming of the court was a little weak. It could be argued that it was a storm court worthy game but the actual enthusiasm and numbers on the court storming leaves a lot to be desired. For tips on how to do this next time Drake kids look north at Ames and how those kids celebrated yesterday.

Now back to the game which was quite good. Both teams tried hard. I can't really fault Marshall's coaching but I must say that a Phelps vs Marshall matchup will never be confused with a Mensa Convention. In the long run the loss won't really hurt the Shocks. They weren't going to win the league anyway. Creighton is clearly at this point the one seed in Saint Louis. Now they need to win their home games and win BB in order to bolster their seeding in March.
