Having recognizably strong academics just isn't one of yours though, huh?

An interesting thing that I had noticed from SLU fans is that they seem to be championing Belmont to join the A10. That is not a school that we had discussed here in possible realignment for the Valley or at least that I remember. I like it. They wouldn't quite be ORU but Belmont is a good basketball school in a good city and finally a great academic institution. If I was Elgin I think I would be making phone calls to Nashville just to inquire.
What standards do you use to say that VCU has "sub par academics"?

Well it isn't a bad school. I mean I doubt that many of their graduates are CEOs at Fortune 500 companies but I'm sure they offer a quality education. If I had a son or daughter who wanted to go there even though it is in crappy Richmond, I'd be okay with it. Mostly my comment was just a throw away line. I had not put a lot of thought into it so if there are some incensed VCU alums on here I apologize.
I think this realignment thing is crazy with VCU being in the CAA next year. I am going to have to set aside some time in November to try to recall who is actually in what conference.
CaseyGarrisonforPrez wrote:If that truly is the list of famous alums from VCU then it is a little lame. I have heard of very few of them (read that as ANY of them). At least we have John Goodman, the first guy on the Bachelor, Ryan Howard, etc. Again it sounds like a decent school but it is just in a crappy area. I have no beef with VCU.
