All I can say is I'm thankful that Evansville can't e-ville anyone this year. In fact at this very moment they are a top 100 RPI road game. So unlike most years where I dread the games with Evansville as it's a lose/lose big situation this year on the road I don't view it that way. For the moment at least it will either be a top 100 road win or a non-catastrophic road loss. So a win/neutral situation in my eyes.

One game on the road against a team playing in their Super Bowl isn't going to change that fact. A team that is nationally ranked and 15-1 has to play poorly to lose to a team middling their way through the season. Add the fact that it is a road game and upsets happen.

Being a middling Valley team doesn't earn you the right to say you were better than a team, simply based on one game. I'm sure most Evansville fans will be screaming this if it happens. After all, it is their Super Bowl and it's been a while since they've beaten WSU.

If the loss happens, I would compare it to our 3OT road loss at Drake last year. Clearly, everybody knows who the better team was, even after that game. One team got hot, while the other played like a road team with a target on their back. You can't expect a perfect game and perfect season every time out.

In this case, Ace Dad is on the money.

A season's worth of 'cred' already? Awesome, take the next couple months off. You're in the tournament already right?

Is that you're goal from the first half of the season? To say that if you lose on the road to Evansville that you are still the better team?

You are the Super Bowl for Evansville? Man, what does that make Creighton? The Super Duper Bowl? Being the better team doesn't mean that you win all the time, that's why we play the game. I bet the Patriots would say they were the best team in the NFL when they went the regular season undefeated and lost in the real Super Bowl to the Giants. Who was named the champion of that season? Let the players play the game, cheer for them as loud as you can and in the end be gracious in victory and defeat. But if you want to be called the best team in any game, go ahead and win it.

Hate on the Shox if you want. WSU fans appreciate the respect.

Don't hate on our players. Cleanthony Early is just the latest chapter in Marshall recruiting basketball players with sound personal values.

I don't think I hated on anyone. I simply implied that you can't hang your hat on half of a season and that if you want to brag about your wins you shouldn't make excuses for your losses.

I do respect the shockers. Trust me it is not because of anything a shocker fan has ever posted. I think the same respect is given to Creighton from WSU fans, not from what they post, but the feeling they get when they play Creighton. I can't prove it and you probably won't admit it, but I think it is there. I don't think Cle is a bad player, but you seem to imply that big players show up in big games and Cle disappeared vs Tennessee.

If you had a clue, you would understand that CLE did not "disappear" in the Tennesse game, he got in foul trouble and eventually fouled out in 17 minutes. This was all apart of the growth process for him this year, his struggles this year have not been on offense, it has been on the defensive side - first defending to Marshall standard to get play and eventually start, then defend without fouling so he can play minutes.

WSU has another prolific scorer sitting on the bench who is going through the same process, but he still has not figured it out. Thus he see very limited playing time.

You just proved my entire point. "The better team doesn't win all of the time."

This would be the case here. Down 3 starters, were probably due for an upset at some point. Might as well be in one team's Super Bowl.

Lol. Got your excuses all lined up just in case it doesn't go your way?? If you lose, you say it is our Super Bowl and you were due for an upset. If you win, you then come on here all high and mighty.

I hate to disappoint you but you are not even the best team we will have played up to this point. That honor goes to Butler, ranked higher then you and had just beaten the number 1 team in the country.

This is our 4th ranked team we have played this year. I can promise you Marty does not put emphasis on any one game. Win or lose he will say its a long season and we have to sustain a level of play. If they win, not one player or coach will have felt they have won anything except another conference basketball game.

A good point was made. I am also thankful that we cannot be "Evansvilled" this year. Evansville's basketball program has done a better job this year not sucking and are apparently quite good. That is good for them, good for their opponents, and good for their conference.

Thank you Evansville.

Not excuses, just facts of life. I don't expect perfection and I certainly don't expect a 29-1 record.

How many of those better, ranked teams were at home? This is most definitely your Super Bowl. I've seen plenty if the pack the house mantra and $5 ticket promotions. Sad thing is it probably won't even generate 7 or 8k fans.

None of the games have been at home? Does your "Super Bowl" have to be a home game?

Will be lucky if 6k show up....that should tell you, its not our "Super Bowl".
