Add in the fact that Manigat was nowhere to be found in this game, other that his 5 fouls and those things were too much for the Jays to overcome on the road.

Good thing is that losing this game may help focus the Jays the rest of the way, that's the beauty of it... If CU can avoid a stumble or two through the rest of conference play and take care of the Shockers at home in early March, this game won't come in play to affect CU's seed come tourney time. I feel that this game was more of a statement game for WSU and most definitely proves that the Shockers should and will be in the tourney, and probably an 8-9 seed or "better."

So....Moral Victory?

Moral Victory??? Is there even such a thing? :D

3, you got owned. And, I hope the Shockers can help Creighton get focused after another loss in Omaha.[/quote]

Well you know it actually did kind of work out better for CU last season !

I fully expect the Jays to return the favor on Senior Day on March 2nd and hand the Shockers a 10+ point loss to clinch the Valley regular season title. After last year's dud at home against WSU, and Saturday's close loss in Wichita... I have a feeling the Jays will come out with their 'A' game!

Shocks are a bunch of brick layers and jm and Ethan will not resemble the shocks masonry work next time. Gibbs has more basketball iq than the entire shocks team combined.

Question, how bad would the shocks blow out another team of slow, athletically challenged players like Butler has? 20 or 30 point win?

McDermott had more than his average actually, must have been really, really lucky yesterday!

If Gibbs has more basketball IQ than the entire shocks team combined, it first makes you a tool. Second, it makes your team look incredibly incompetent losing to us. Hell, i would likely call for G-derms head if he coached a team that lost to such a dumb team.

You played the worst game of the year because you played us, which had something to do with you playing
bad. I hope I'm not going to fast for you. You could have won easily if a couple of plays went differently...well apparently "if" didn't suit up for you in this game. I could easily make the argument our 38% shooting, 17% from 3 and 47% FT shooting got in the way of us winning by about 20. This was a hard fought basketball game between two excellent programs. We won...this time. Next time in Omaha it could very well be different. Stay tuned.

usaso, curious, did hcgggm mention any conspiracy theories about the way the game was called by the zebras in his postgame yesterday or is he saving that for Sat. in St. Louis? also, did krusty sit in your general vicinity and did you get his autograph?

Hey 3tool,

You might check your own board about conspiracy theories. There are about 100 expert officials over there professing a homer job. What those Einstein's haven't figured out is that 3G isn't on the warm and fuzzy list of Valley officials. We get homered at home more times than not. Home or away officials arent likely to give him any favors. Take the loss and we will see you in March. Oh, by the way, have you found a jersey yet for cousin "it's" twin brother "if?" :Bam:

Don't forget Jays26 and LJay. Those that had the most to say pregame are no where to be found postgame. I'm concerned about their whereabouts.

You have CU posters that rarely post come here offering their opinions, perspectives, and congrats and then you have those that speak the most having issues logging onto MVCfans today. Must be a bitter pill to swallow.

Blah, blah, blah. Nothing in that lame comeback refutes the fact that SHOXMVC knocked your marshmallow lob pitch over the center field wall at Mach 2.

And if you told me that the Shockers would have shot 38% FGs (lower than Creighton), 47.4% FTs (well less than Clemson), 17% from 3 (less than half of what Creighton had), had the same amount of rebounds, and less blocks, I would have guessed that Creighton wins by 20.

You're not nailing reasons, you're giving excuses.

If Wichita has its second worst offensive performance of the entire season, nearly entirely unforced by Creighton (missed FGs & wide open 3s), Creighton SHOULD win. If you can't beat Wichita with that kind of performance, I'm not sure what you expect to happen if they play average offensive ball in Omaha.

Coach McDermott moves to 1-4 against Marshall. Not very impressive for a rival.

Tell me more about your one week of good weather. I'm so interested.

People in Nebraska talking crap about Kansas is like ... oh hell. If you're deluded enough to think being in Nebraska lets you put down anyone else, you wouldn't understand a metaphor anyway. The Omaha/Wichita rivalry is cute and all, but to 99% of the US population, it's all just corn fields.

Both teams shot below average but that can happen in "rivalry" games, but lets not think that the shockers are just going to destroy Creighton at home if the play just average on offense, the same could be said if Creighton rebounds better defensively that they would "roll" the shockers in Omaha. Saying that I expect another close game that will come down to the wire and hopefully that can be CU this time. Best case scenario for the Valley is to have two 28-2 (16-1) teams competing for the title on national tv.

Good game shockers you definitely earned that win, and good luck until March 2nd.

CU shot 10% under their season average in the game, and WSU shot 7% under theirs from the field, so I am not seeing a huge disconnect there. Sure CU's lower FG percentage can be attributed to WSU's style of defense, but also there were plenty of open looks that CU missed that would have made a difference (i.e. Wragge getting two open looks to tie the game). And to say that Wichita's low FG percentage was all about missing open shots - did you watch the game? CU played one of its better defensive games of the season (outside of a few possessions) and matched the Shockers intensity through all 40 minutes, on the road. Going back on it, Wichita State won the game with all of its second chance opportunities (outscoring CU in that stat 23-5), and the turnover margin (14-6).

Anyway, it's time to move on, good luck through the rest of conference play Shocks, and hoping that both teams can be 16-1 in conference play on March 2nd, and let it all be settled on the floor on Creighton's home court in front of a record crowd at the Century Link Center (game is already nearing a sell-out over a month before). Here's to the top two teams in the MVC!
