Good guys aren't looking too good lately.

That's two 2-game losing streaks for the good guys.

I predict another "cruise" coming along..

Instead of pizza discounts like others schools do after wins, Creighton hands out cruise discounts after losses.

Not to stir the pot or anything, but your Shockers haven't exactly been lighting up the landscape lately either... It's a long season and almost every team goes through a mid-season swoon. We will see where the dust settles after March 10th, but I have confidence that the Jays will have most likely put these L's behind them.

Cu now has a 2 game losing streak and their magical season where they were going to ride into the NCAA tournament with a 4 seed, be a lock for a S16 and maybe get their elite 8 crown to take with them to their new conference - GONE. Well they are now a bubble team with the pressure on and now they realize they are pretty much just like every other valley team.

The myth of Creighton basketball was kind of exposed last night. They are a one man program. The rest of the cast is very suspect. Echenique is limited. Gibbs only really shows up when CU is playing well. Wragge is as reliable behind the three point arc as Punxatawny Phil is. When they aren't shooting the three well, they are nothing special at all. They are a lower third Valley team in terms of coaching. Greg reacts to a zone defense with complete and utter surprise as if it is the most unexpected thing an opponent could do.

They'll still make the NCAA Tournament. They will maybe win a game, they won't have a magical finish after all. After this season they will be just like everyone else in the Valley. Average recruiting at the moment. You think Puryear was impressed with his visit and the game yesterday? Nope. But Blue Jay fans can ignore me because they won't be our problem for long. Greg better hope that they don't play zone in that Catholic League. Don't think this is sour grapes on my part. I really bought into the hype. Truly thought Creighton was a Final Four team since they had the best talent in the conference since Larry Bird. They aren't going to fool me again.

A couple points i need to make.
1- Creightons overall effort level has not been the problem, i wish thats all it was.
2- Drake, Indiana state, and Illinois state all played very good against us, and we have been getting everyones best effort due to the ranking.
3- We have shot the ball terrible, and weve had just as good of looks for the most part. 4 for 23 from 3! From a team thats been the best 3 point shooting team in the country . Weve shot it just as bad in our other losses.
4- This is where we have lost it- We dont look to attack the basket first, and then if its not there kick it out for 3. We have been just playing around the perimeter.

In the end i really dont think this team has gotten worse, maybe hasn't improved like one would hope, but these losses have more to do with off shooting nights combined with the opposing teams playin great against us. At the beginning of the year it was clear to me what kind of team this was. Because by nature we shoot so many 3's, this is the kind of team that can lose to almost anybody, but this is also the kind of team that can beat anybody if they are shooting the 3 like they can. We need to just make it to March , cause right now WSU, CU, and INSU are all 3 close to that bubble. Im not a big believer that seeds make much difference, the key is just getting there, once there anything can happen. Creightons best team ever was a team that was ranked close to 10th almost the entire year, and got a 4 seed against a central michigan team that shouldnt of even competed. We were down like 25 at half and lost. George mason was a 12 seed . I think u get the point. Sometimes having a worse seed actually helps, the underdog always is going to have the mental advantage. Thats a big part of why the 3 top valley teams have lost so many games lately that they should of won.

As for the final 4 hype and greatest Creighton team ever talk. Obviously its kindof rediculous to predict any team thats never been close to the final 4 to be a final 4 team. Most of that was just excitement that we finally had a good team again. Its been a while since we had a team that has POTENTIAL to go deep in March. Last years team was never good enough to beat a UNC , we really went about as far as we could of. As bad as we have looked lately, i still think this years team has the ability to beat the best teams if we are shooting it well.

Any and every win in the league is a good one but it's really nice to finally 1.) Win a game on a big stage, and on national TV and 2.) Win a game vs. a Coach Mac-led team. He has absolutely owned us, even going back to his days at UNI. In fact, from his tenures at both UNI and CU, last night was only the second win we've had over one of his teams.

I will say that the Jays will be fine. They have a really good team. They need to get Echenique more touches and more shots. Johnny Hill took it right at Chapman and got him in foul trouble. Jays are a different team when he isn't in there pushing the ball up.

Deanthony, kind of disagree with you to an extent. "i still think this years team has the ability to beat the best teams if we are shooting it well" that was last years team too. If we hit threes, we could have beaten most,if not all teams in the country. This year's team can do that too. Ok, maybe we could not have beaten UNC last year. This year's team couldn't either tho, and i don't think there is a team even as good as UNC was last year anyways.

The major disappointment is the complete lack of improvement. This years team can still win if it shoots well, but has zero chance to win if it doesn't. You would think a year of coaching and improvement would provide a team with a plan B. Currently, we have none. Terribly disappointing, and i put it on the coaching staff.
