A couple points i need to make.
1- Creightons overall effort level has not been the problem, i wish thats all it was.
2- Drake, Indiana state, and Illinois state all played very good against us, and we have been getting everyones best effort due to the ranking.
3- We have shot the ball terrible, and weve had just as good of looks for the most part. 4 for 23 from 3! From a team thats been the best 3 point shooting team in the country . Weve shot it just as bad in our other losses.
4- This is where we have lost it- We dont look to attack the basket first, and then if its not there kick it out for 3. We have been just playing around the perimeter.
In the end i really dont think this team has gotten worse, maybe hasn't improved like one would hope, but these losses have more to do with off shooting nights combined with the opposing teams playin great against us. At the beginning of the year it was clear to me what kind of team this was. Because by nature we shoot so many 3's, this is the kind of team that can lose to almost anybody, but this is also the kind of team that can beat anybody if they are shooting the 3 like they can. We need to just make it to March , cause right now WSU, CU, and INSU are all 3 close to that bubble. Im not a big believer that seeds make much difference, the key is just getting there, once there anything can happen. Creightons best team ever was a team that was ranked close to 10th almost the entire year, and got a 4 seed against a central michigan team that shouldnt of even competed. We were down like 25 at half and lost. George mason was a 12 seed . I think u get the point. Sometimes having a worse seed actually helps, the underdog always is going to have the mental advantage. Thats a big part of why the 3 top valley teams have lost so many games lately that they should of won.
