I'm not a CU fan, but I think Doug is back for his Sr. year. Not 50-50. Probably not even 90-10.

I saw Bird play, and Doug doesn't strike me as that type of player. I could be wrong. Doug's game may not translate to the NBA as well as some other players who might not be putting up Doug's numbers in college.

Doug appears to be a good player without a good position in the NBA. He's kind of a tweener. Not quick enough to play the 3, and not big enough or strong enough to play the 4. Maybe his uncany shooting ability, his ability to stretch a defense, and his rebounding instincts might carry him past what would appear to be some limitations in the NBA, but is an NBA team going to risk a first-round pick on that?

I think Doug would be a comfortable second round pick this year, but it would be a crap shoot whether he would go to the first round. In that situation, I think Doug finishes school. It's not like he's from the inner city and has a poverty-ridden Mama he wants to take care of.

Your journey could be shortened if the other McDermott gives up on getting into the Holy Land and instead focuses his attention on the Holy See.

I think it would be better for him to go, but it will be a personal decision. Next year's draft is supposedly going to be very deep, and staying just makes it more likely that he could get injured and hurt any chance of going to the NBA.

From what I've seen of his game, he has some of Bird's skill and basketball IQ, but not his toughness. He should be able to score in the NBA, but the worry is always whether he'll be able to defend NBA 3s or 4s. Still, this year should not be incredibly deep, so he should have a good chance of going first round if Creighton does well in the rest of the season.

I have heard from a reliable source that if DM leaves, his family will shun him.

I mean, surely Creighton can replace four of their starters every year and still challenge for the Valley championship, right?

If WSU can do it, surely Creighton, the class of the Valley's history, should have no problem replacing just one little player.

Again...stop being a DB....you make an entire fan base look bad. :bounce:

But deanthonybowden can be a DB? Yah, he's making your fanbase look great. Time to start looking on your own and then there would be nothing to be said. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

The attitude on this site towards WSU fans is so bad, no further harm can be done. There's no reason not to be a DB.

I really wish the crying from Shocker fans would cease as well. Post your thoughts. Argue the facts. But for the love of Pope John Paul II, stop crying about how you are treated. It really distracts me when I am reading. Everybody knows why Shocker fans are hated. Embrace it.

Do you actually think I care that fans here hate WSU fans? Absolutely not. I couldn't care less if the posters here hate on me, my team, my buddies, my wife, or my dog. There are actually people in the world whose opinions matter to me. Those people do not post here.

I was merely trying to point out the fallacy of telling a WSU not to be a DB, or the WSU fan base could get a bad reputation. That's like telling someone not to open the barn door or the cow might get out when there is no cow.
