Nah. You pretend like you're complimenting Wichita while sticking little jabs in at the end of everything you say.
I have never once heard a Wichita fan on here compliment the Jays
Really? I've never heard ONE WSU fan disparage anything about Creighton. I see Creighton fans CONSTANTLY belittling Wichita, Kansas, attacking WSU players as being ignorant, or thugs, or YOU accusing WSU of recruiting violations. WSU fans don't LIKE Creighton, but we don't disparage Creighton in that manner. Nebraska's a hell hole (at least as bad as Kansas ... there's a reason I live in Hawaii >=)), but you don't see me saying it
Oh, whoops.
I'll mock Creighton for being completely unable to get past the second round in the NCAA tournament, but I would never say that Creighton isn't the most successful team in conference play, or the most consistent, in the last decade+. Hell, if you guys didn't choke in every NCAA tournament, you could easily have been one of the Butlers or Gonzagas. Just never got over that step of turning conference dominance into NCAA tournament success. You draw amazing crowds, McD is probably the best player in the MVC for the last few decades (although a poor defender, and unlikely to have NBA success >=)), and Creighton's a solid academic school.
I'd be lying if I denied any of those things. I just don't say them very often because, eww, Creighton.
You have won 2 NCAA games in the past 20 plus years. Creighton has won 3 in the past 15.
Don't think I didn't notice that you changed the time frame there, despite the fact that Creighton has also only won 3 in the past 20. Big gap between 91 and 99 there, bud. Of course, I could also say that Creighton has won ONE game in the past 10, and WSU has won TWO. We can both selectively choose timeframes.
Just cause u made the sweet 16 once does not mean you win every argument for everything.
Nah, but it pretty effectively wins the "NCAA tournament success" debate >=)
I wouldn't say winning 2 NCAA games is doing more in the NCAAs, than winning 3 games. Even if the 2 wins got you to the sweet 16.
You can say it or not. It's your choice to be wrong. Going to the NCAAs and sucking is not anything to brag about. Hell, you do it at the NIT as well. If you're going to go, might as well win >=)
It's borderline delusional to try to pretend like three first round wins are better than a first round win AND a second round win. I don't know if you've seen the NCAA tournament before, but each round is progressively more difficult than the one before it. And I don't mean that as an insult ... I honestly don't know if you've seen much of the NCAA tournament. You probably weren't alive the last time you guys got to the third round >=)
You could have won a first round game in every NCAA tournament you've been in over the last 20 years and I would still say, accurately, that the Sweet 16 berths of WSU, Bradley, NIU, and SIU meant they had more NCAA tournament success. You don't hang banners for winning a first round game. (Or do you? I'd have to imagine "Round of 32~!" banners look rather lame.)
Just saying, WSU has banners from the Final Four, two from the Elite 8, the Sweet 16, winning the NIT (in that order of importance) ... and don't think I didn't notice how you conveniently dropped your argument about the NIT being better than the NCAAs in the 70s and 80s. End of the day, Creighton has never won back to back games in either the NCAA tournament or the NIT. Ever. WSU has done it five times. There is no comparing postseason success. I have no problem acknowledging Creighton's conference success ... but that success is tempered by constant postseason failure.
Like I said, if the quality of your program was measured only in Sweet 16 appearances than you would have to say Southern Illinois has had a better program than Wichita over the past 6 years. As SIU has one sweet 16 appearance in the last 6 years compared to WSU having 0.
I would say SIU has had more NCAA tournament success than us in that timeframe, yes. Also more tournament success than Creighton in the last 40.
Clearly SIU has been a far better program than Wichita for the past 6 years. Using shocker logic. I'm gonna have to come up with a name for Shocker logic. shlogic?
It's cute how worked up you get. I didn't say we had a better program than Creighton over that time period. I said we had more NCAA tournament success.
