If it was the worst defense CU would have been shooting layups and it didn't sound like there were many. They shot the best anyone has ever shot against the shockers. More on their ability to make shots and not so much on the defense. It was a good offensive game to have heading into stl. Maybe not the one seed but they still have a good chance of putting something together.

CBB_Fan wrote:Yes, they made shots, some ridiculous. But the Shockers definitely had a very bad defensive outing all on their own. Statistically, the worst in the 107 years. Bad interior defense (again, tons of open lay-ups), and horrific perimeter defense.

That's about the only part of Wichita's game that I thought was terrible.

rlh04d wrote:Disagreed. There some open layups, and the three (?) lob passes were very poorly defended. But for the most part, the defense was very good and very physical. It just didn't stop them.
It was not a bad defensive outing. It was statistically the most insane shooting from an opponent against WSU in 107 years. It was NOT on bad defense, though. We've defended better, but we've also defended far worse. We played a good game ... they played much, much better.
Quit trying to make it about us. Creighton deserves all the kudos in the world for that game. I don't think it says a single damn thing about WSU, except that I'm very happy with how we played coming off of that mediocre Evansville game. All I can hope is that we see Creighton in the finals and they're more mortal on a neutral court.
