It was a nice performance, but you can go back in history and see a number of 40+ point, 20+ point rebound games in the Valley.

Thot both teams played better than their norm today, but Jays were simply red-red hot.

An easy and simple prediction: neither team will play anywhere near as good in St Louis if they meet in the finals, and not just because it would be the 3rd game in three days.

Gosh, how bad do you think Wichita State normally plays? I'm not sure they could play considerably worse (obviously, they could on offense), and they certainly wouldn't make the finals if they did.

i was there today, have watched every CU game the past two years minus a handful, and have watched a decent number of WSU games this year.

in my opinion, you can't really judge WSU's performance after this game. they simply ran into a buzzsaw. That CU team would make the final four. Obviously, i don't think we will make the final four, but we played like it on this one day.

ya, you can argue they lost Doug a few times for open shots. However, he was also absolutely owning anybody that guarded him on the block, was draining cross over fade away 3s, hitting and 1's, etc. The guy scored 41 points on 18 shots and his only misses were three 3 pt attempts. Nobody was going to stop him on this afternoon.

Have to say I am very glad that I was able to watch Doug's performance live... with the high stakes on the line - coupled with what WSU did to CU at home last year... it has to rank up there as one of the best individual performances in Bluejay history. This season has definitely had its share of ups and downs for this highly touted group of Jays, but yesterday they vindicated themselves as the best in the conference and a team that will have to be reckoned with in the Big Dance.

Bring on STL, looking forward to what will likely be four crazy days of upsets and great college basketball games. Maybe CU is hitting their stride at the right time, we will see, but a week of rest should do the Jays good and hopefully they can keep it going and bring a 2nd straight tourney title back to Omaha. Roll Jays!

Just want to congratulate WSU on a hell of a year. Not many coaches could have done what Gregg Marshall did this year with the number of newcomers and injuries. Hat tip from this jayfan. Your team may have let a few shooters loose yesterday but they played hard and didn't fold even when we pushed the lead to 15 late in the second half. I always thought Marshall got max effort out of his teams at Winthrop and he has the Shox bringing the same approach to the game.

Hope to see you in the Lou!

That just means he likely didn't see them.

That was one of the biggest games in Valley regular season history, if not the biggest. And It was nice to see it be an exciting, fun to watch game, in which both teams played well. I know its easy for me to say since we won, but really I thought it was just one of the best college basketball games of the year in the whole country, because of everything that was on the line. I think it was good for the Valley and huge for Creighton obviously. Both those teams showed the country what our league is about, and when Armstead had blood all over his face and looked a little woozy and didnt even sit out for one second, that was one of my favorite parts to the game. That was a tough team we beat, and it took all of our guys giving it everything they had to win that game. I think its safe to say both teams left everything on the floor yesterday.

Oh and also, the game was a good example of teams playing scrappy, and doing whatever it takes to win, without being dirty. Theres a difference between playing tough, and crossing the line like idk for example, hitting someone in the nuts or tryin to hurt an opposing player. Many games with this much emotion in other leagues would have no tougher of play, but yet result in a fist fight. I've never seen a WSU or a Creighton player intentionally do something that was just wrong all year. Some fans in the Valley have said WSU players can be thug-like, which maybe they have seen something I've never seen, but personally I havent seen any of that this year.
