It's going to be an adjustment period for Creighton. They've scheduled like a mid major in recent years (not a diss - when you're a mid major, you schedule like a mid major ;) ). Now they're going to a conference where they'll be expected to schedule like a big boy. They're going into a conference with a culture of buy games, just a couple of true road games, if any, and the marquee game or three at home or on a neutral court on national TV.

Creighton might actually be frowned upon by the rest of their league if they have a couple home-and-home series with MVC schools on the schedule. Creighton in the past few years have had series (both home and away) with CUSA and A-10 schools too I think. The dirty secret about some of these schools in the C7 is that they don't go on the road much, so I wonder how many of these would continue.

All that said, Creighton/Wichita is the one obvious game that would look good in the Big East's eyes. So I'd work on making that a home-and-home series for the foreseeable future. I think that's a game that can be marketed to FOX for a prime non-conference time slot.

Has anyone of any authority at Creighton stated they are leaving?

Would rather use the game to play a big name school from a big name conference.

I would like to see Drake continue to play Creighton. The Bluejays are a natural geographic rival, and Creighton is the most similar school to Drake in the MVC (not talking about on the basketball court).

Now that's a fair response.

For the olympic sports, I'd say it is a resounding yes. Truth be told, if there were any way to stay in the MVC for baseball, I'd be in favor of that. I'd really like to maintain the WSU and MSU series if it can't be done. In soccer, Drake and Bradley would be two series I'd like to keep.

For men's basketball, it is tougher. First of all, it is impossible to play everyone, so that isn't even an option. I wouldn't be opposed to one series a year, but it would have to be an RPI enhancing series. I suspect that Asian Sensation is probably on point - a transitional period will probably take place while everything is sorted out - finances, recruiting and yes, scheduling.

Creighton would technically be a Big East team so I would like to. Plus it would be nice to beat Greg McDermott a few more times. I would like it as long as Creighton didn't turn into the bottom feeder of that conference. I am guessing with the likes of Depaul Creighton wouldn't be, but I am not sure they could compete with Georgetown, Villanova, Marquette year in year out. Of course that is a different discussion. Yes I would like to see us play them, however, I am not sure the Creighton fans see UNI as much of a rival.

No, but don't expect them too. We will hear the news from another source first.

BTW, I did specifically include the word "if" in this poll because nothing is certain.

This is a no-brainer for everyone. If Greg McDermott calls up Marty Simmons in 2016 and says we'd like to do a home-and-home this year and next, Marty would be stupid to decline in most reasonable scenarios.

Some unreasonable scenarios where it might make sense to decline:
- Marty already has home games with Illinois and Georgia on the 2016 schedule
- Creighton becomes a boat anchor in the Holy Land, so Greg McDermott is coaching at Mississippi State
- Marty Simmons is actually coaching at Purdue in 2016

Creighton will be playing home games against cupcakes out of conference to build up their record. They are not going to play Valley schools, except at home, for the same reason nobody else will play Valley schools.
