I believe several players for the Bears will challenge for post season honors. Marcus Marshall is one of the most complete guards in the conference with the ability to handle, score, get his own shot, and defend. I see Marcus and Walt Lemon as unique among Valley guards.Marcus is special. People keep overlooking a pair of 6'5 wings for the Bears in Jarmar Gulley and Ron Mvouika. Gulley was one of the top newcomers two years ago, and if healthy, will be a handful once again. Mvouika might be the most overlooked impact recruit we've had in a while. He originally signed with ACC member Virginia Tech out of HS, but injured his back and returned to France to rehab. He was originally recruited as a pg, but now at 6'5 has grown into a solid wing player leading his Sheridan juco team to 2 straight National Juco tourneys and averaging 19ppg and 8 rbs this past year. Lusk has said he's more ready to play at D-1 than any of the jucos he's recruited so far. A final player of intrigue is prep school pg Devon Thomas who some feel could push to start from Day 1. He's about 5'11, very quick and athletic, and has leadership skills you want in a pg. Somewhere in that mix will be an All MVC type, a NOY/FOY candidate, and perhaps a POY challenger in the future.
The Bear is the largest carnivore on the North American continent; beware the Bear!
