I thought WSU called off the dog with about 7-8 minutes left and instead just ran clock. Derail Green who does not play very much for us got substantial minutes down the stretch with Evan Wessell, Nick Wiggins, and Kadeem Coleby (3rd on depth chart big man). I don't buy the whole "Marshall didn't put subs in the game soon enough". In regards to Marshall pressing with 4 minutes to go, again he had players that don't play starters minutes in the game - why would he not try to improve them before he put walk-ons in?
IlSU needs to get better, along with Bradley, for this conference to get where it needs to go. I find it hard to believe that there aren't good enough players in Illinois alone for both programs to be successful in the next 5 years or so. A packed RA and a packed Carver Arena are great for the valley. Hope both places are packed when WSU comes to town.
Quite frankly, IlSU's players aren't as good as WSU's right now. That doesn't mean that in Normal, Il we will beat you handily again. Good 3pt shooting for IlSU and foul trouble for WSU will make WSU look mediocre in a hurry.
You guys are a good fanbase, even with all this "drama" going on that is really just a a pissing contest, and you guys deserve a nationally competitive program.
Good luck.
Thank you for a level headed post.
FVV is so damn good! The pieces are there for a deep run. Your bigs are athletic and attack the rim well.
I really hope that McIntosh and Hawkins are what you guys have in the post. We need guys who can pull down boards and finish above the rim.
Good luck the rest of the way, see you guys in Normal.
