I find it interesting that some point out that ISUB missed some FT on a night where they hit their AVERAGE, when it was WSU who actually shot below their average from the line. If ISUB hit all their FT and WSU hits all their FT, WSU wins by 11 :o

WSU big men were 4-13 from the field and 5 of 11 from the FT line and struggled to rebound (giving up to ISUB 11 rbds) - that to me what one of the bigger difference between the games in Wichita and TH.

As everyone here is a former D1 player and D1 coach, I expect us to have riveting conversations regarding X's and O's.

I thought ISUs defense was very good, especially on FVV. Early was a little much for em, but it is well known that he is the biggest match-up problem in the NCAA outside of Jabari Parker. While my last statement may not be factually correct across all of college basketball, Early is certainly in that conversation.

As to the Odum/Early block/charge foul; I understand why most of the arena thought it was a bad call in real time. I understand that last year, that would have likely been called a charge. This year however, the secondary defender (Odum) MUST be completely still prior to any upward motion. Early's upward motion started back at the free throw line and prior to Jake being remotely in position. By the rules and the point of emphasis, the right call was made. Were Jake's feet planted prior to contact being initiated by Cle? Yes. Does it matter? No. The offensive player's freedom of movement was impeded by the defensive player. As a secondary defender, you have to allow the offensive player to continue his already initiated shot. Block it, get out of the way, or have a foul called on you. That's pretty much your options.

Its rlh04d. His he going to diagram a play for us or is he wanting to get in an intranet game of TIC TAC TOE? Bottom line stat is Wins vs Losses. All those other numbers (stats): muddy the wasters. Don't forget, liars figure and figures lie!

I tried to keep it simple for some of the Wichita folks---TIC TAC TOE players need that!

I don't understand how FearDaTrees thinks that was a charge after watching replays. In real time I thought it was close but when they showed the replay from the opposite baseline it was pretty clear that the ISUb player was sliding and Cleanthony was still trying to go around him.

The FVV call vs SWOMO was probably 50/50. The Cleanthony call was a 100/0, not even debatable.

Since Odum was the secondary defender he would have had to been set before cle started towards the basket. He was not therefore it cannot be a charge. It is rarely called correctly however last night it was.

I understand the frustration ISU fans have on the block call. Their only real chance to stop Early is to get him to charge.

Unfortunately, the NCAA doesn't want that happening. They want high flying moves to the cup with thunderous finishes. They don't want Odum drawing a charge, so they are doing everything possible to eliminate it.

It was a block, pure and simple. Get used to it and get some shot blockers because that's the only way you're going to keep guys from getting to the basket from now on.

I'm hoping for a third matchup in St louis in the championship with the sycamores coming out on top. The 1st matchup the sycamores werent ready, the 2nd matchup the sycamores were ready but couldnt finish. If we get a third matchup then who knows.
