NCAA tournament discussion - Thursday March 20

Games start in about 2 hours. For the sake of simplicity, I will try to start a separate thread each day for discussion of that day's games. We will have a separate thread for any Wichita State games.

What's the big upset today? Any 2,3, 4s with legitimate chance of losing? Saw someone picked Eastern KY over Kansas.

American over Wisconsin wouldn't surprise me. American puts the ball in the hoop very well and Wisconsin does not create a lot of turnovers. If American can keep it in the 50's they will have a shot.

Sadly, I don't foresee a good year for mid-majors. This bracket is a BCS paradise. 2 of the 5-6 non-BCS/BE/AAC teams capable of a Sweet-16 run, IMO -- Virginia Commonwealth and Stephen F Austin -- conveniently get paired together.

Biggest upset I see today is North Dakota State, so nothing too special. Dayton, New Mexico State and Harvard should keep their games close to the end.

The dozen upsets in the 12-32 conference tourneys really took the potential out of 1st Round upsets this year.

Dayton is up 3 at the half.

American and Wisconsin are tied at 20 at the under 4.

So much for Wisconsin not forcing turnovers. Going to have at least 8 forced going into half. No one on American wants to shoot

Glad I took Dayton. What a game
