I dont think Drew will leave a place where he is a beloved figure unless it is for a top half BCS job.

Certainly not to this cesspool

Drew is one of those rare cases where the term "lifer" can be applied with about 99% certainty

If they need someone to take the job, I am willing to sacrifice for $250K / year. Can't be much worse.

Aleggedly the powers that be were all in on Kansas assistant and Peoria Native Jerrance Howard to be the next coach even tho hes never drawn up a play in his life.

B.S.

No one involved in any decision making was working toward the Howard thing. A group of people heavily influenced by a local former HS coach were advancing and lobbying for a slate of candidates for AD and a potential coaching staff. While there may have been board members who were lending an ear to that group, the board recognizes the influence this particular group does not necessarily have the university's best interest in mind.

This particular group jumped the gun and overplayed their hand. Seeking power and instead their choice of coach takes a career hit.

This, with the caveat that they knew if they were wrong, they could make it look like dissent and chaos, thereby getting a nice consolation prize.

Those who know the BU fanbase history....this is exactly who you think it is ;)

Article ends with a comment on Geno Ford having his third 20 loss season. Ouch. That's not going to keep you around in most any place.

I'd throw the same salary Geno is making at Tim Floyd. That would get him out of El Paso and you'd win within 3 years.

But that's just me.
