And do you realize WHY that is?????
Let me clue you in on it..... it's because Loyola doesn't have a road game with an attendance of 1200 at Loyola dragging down the average.
You can defend arguments being made against joining the league all day, that's fine, but trying to spin the attendance numbers is never going to work out in your favor.
Ha! I knew someone would point to that so I factored it in before I mentioned it. Loyola drew 5111 at UNI, and in their next two home games they had 3910 for SIU and 4941 for MSU. Loyola drew 5825 at Bradley-- more than for Evansville, UNI and Drake. At SIU, 4874 was more than for Bradley, Missouri State, or Indiana State. Loyola was Indiana State's highest conference attendance this year (haven't hosted WSU yet), more than 1000 more than the second highest for any other team, and 2000 more than for Missouri State. At Evansville, Loyola drew more than for Indiana State (nearby), Bradley, Drake, or MSU. The only place Loyola didn't draw well was Missouri State-- last by a margin of less than 100.
As for going into Chicago, Missouri State hasn't played there yet, and even if you subtract all games at Chicago, Loyola has still drawn 441 more per game than ranked UNI because UNI hasn't played WSU yet. Conversely, Loyola hasn't played at ISUr (above average attendance for the league) or at Drake on what will be a big matchup to avoid Thursday on Drake's senior night. Evansville, Bradley, Drake, Missouri State and Indiana State are also below Loyola when plucking out attendance in Chicago.
